In just over two years, the Biden Administration has made the American Dream more accessible to countless people. The CHIPS Act is bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to the United States. The Inflation Reduction Act puts us on track to reduce our carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2030, and it gives Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices for the first time ever. The 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is preparing us for a sustainable future powered by renewable energy. These actions have created tens of millions of well-paying jobs in manufacturing and are rebuilding our economy after the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the social actions passed during Biden’s presidency cannot be understated. The Respect for Marriage Act established federal protections for same-sex marriages. The Administration presented a plan to cancel up to $20,000 in student loan debt for millions of borrowers, giving them the chance to invest in their futures. And thanks to diligent efforts to administer COVID-19 vaccines nationwide, we’re seeing an end to emergency measures that signal we’ve made it through the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have the chance to build on this momentum and create real change in 2024 and beyond, but we need to work together to make that happen.
