Once again, Nevada and Michigan are set to be two of the biggest battleground states in 2024. In fact, when CNN did a list of the 10 Senate races most likely to flip in the next election, our states were both included as being crucial to ensuring Democrats hold our Senate majority.

Keeping and expanding our Senate majority is important for many reasons. Chief among them is protecting Democrats’ ability to confirm judges who can counter the huge number of judges Trump was able to appoint during his term as president.

The main reason mifepristone isn’t banned nationwide right now is because an Obama-appointed judge took quick action to reverse part of a Trump judge’s ban on the leading abortion pill. Now, after the Supreme Court temporarily ruled to keep the pill legal, it’s going to an appeals court for final rule.

Decisions like this happen in the courts—which is why having a strong Senate majority is so crucial. We need to keep Democrats in power so they can confirm Biden-appointed judges who are fair and impartial and who don’t put politics above our lives.
