Add your name to tell the House of Representatives that you want them to act on a bill to improve Congress now!

“Congress should be effective, efficient, and work for the American people. Passing House Resolution 756, which would advance bipartisan recommendations from the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress, is a crucial step in restoring the legislative body. We call on all members of the House of Representatives to move this resolution forward.”

John,

We just heard from sources on Capitol Hill that the House Administration Committee may take action on our bill to improve Congress this week!

This is huge news that comes on the heels of a letter that Issue One, along with 15 other good government organizations, just sent to all members of the House of Representatives urging support for the Moving Our Democracy and Congressional Operations Towards Modernization (MODCOM) Resolution of 2019, H. Res. 756.

MODCOM would advance nearly 30 bipartisan recommendations that the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress proposed to get the U.S. House working better for the American people. These include improving constituent engagement, staff retention and diversity, transparency, accessibility, and technology.

Passing this resolution is critical. Help us turn up the heat by telling Congress to act now and move H. Res. 756 forward!

As we said in our letter, Americans deserve a Congress that works for them, and the modernizing committee’s recommendations are the best first step to achieving that. Now’s the time to take swift action and advance H. Res. 756.

Add your name and join us in calling on the House to pass this important resolution now!

Thanks for your support,
