Hi John,
I’m excited to share some great new features we’ve been working on for the last few months! Read about these new features below, and please respond to this email if you have any questions.
In addition to the below features, we made some updates to our 2-factor authentication (2FA) system, and, as a result, the next time you log in you may be prompted to set up 2FA again. Take a moment and check your 2FA settings. We recommend using an app like Authy to authenticate as it’s the most secure option.
Report Highlights
Create a new mini dashboard displaying key numbers for your group like full list size, 90-day actives, or volunteers using Report Highlights. Select up to 6 reports you’d like to highlight in your group, and we’ll display the most recent count for each report as well as the last time the data was refreshed on the Group Manage page. Pro tip: Set your reports to recur weekly or monthly to automatically get updated numbers. Learn more here.

Retarget before sending scheduled emails or mobile messages
You can now automatically refresh your targeting universe before sending scheduled emails or mobile messages. We’ve added a checkbox on the scheduling popup on the Preview & Send page that allows you to retarget your email or mobile message before sending. Note that this may cause a delay in sending as the message will need to recalculate before going out.
Ladder skip days
You now have the option to add a skip day to a specific ladder to ensure that your recipients are not getting regular content on holidays or key organizational dates. When a skip day is active, the wait steps are paused, meaning that an activist will continue through a ladder until they hit a wait step. Learn more here.
Event updates
We have two new updates to our Events tool:
-
1-Click RSVP from Event Campaign pages: Instead of an activist having to click into a specific event from an Event Campaign page in order to RSVP, now they can RSVP directly from the Event Campaign page with 1-click.
-
Convert timezone for virtual events: We will convert the time of an event based on what we guess an activist’s timezone is. For example, if an activist views your event in Minnesota, we’ll convert the start time of the event to Central Time.
Other updates worth noting:
-
Latvian (LV) is a new supported language for front facing actions and widgets
-
Action-Only Fields are now available in Ladder decision steps
-
New integration with Email-Voter API, built by Democrats.com
-
Notification in the Response Options tab if the confirmation email for an action has not been updated.
-
New admin permission setting for networks to restrict child group/inheritance access.
As with all our new features, these were chosen, brainstormed, and paid for by our Development Partners at the AFL-CIO, Daily Kos, the DNC, and the Canadian Labour Congress — read more about our cooperative development process here. Check out our release notes to follow along with what’s new on Action Network.
Have a question or comment? Feel free to reply to this email, and I’ll get back to you.
Take care,
