1) COVID Lockdown States Lost Tens of Billions of Dollars to States That Stayed Open
Our friend Dan Clifton at Strategas has crunched the brand new IRS income migration data for 2020 and 2021.

Florida gained a staggering $63 billion in income from migration in two years, a more than 5 percent boost in state personal income. Texas was second biggest state income gainer at $17 billion.

The big losers? California, New York, and Illinois of course. Manhattan alone lost $31 billion in income.

Chasing away high-income residents has also chased away state tax revenue:

People are voting with their feet -- and taking their money with them.

2) Good Luck Finding a Place To Charge Your Electric Car
Progressives are putting a lot of their Green New Deal chips on the growth of electric vehicles. California is their lodestar, since it has 42 percent of all electric cars in the U.S. Last year, the state even mandated an end to sales of gas-powered cars by 2035. If anyone dares to sell one after that, it’s a $20,000 fine.

But where do you charge them? In order to have only all zero-emission vehicle sales in 12 years, more than one million new charging stations will have to be installed. The state currently has only 87,000.

Mariel Garza, an editorialist at the left-wing Los Angeles Times, writes: “I’m Ready To Trade In My Electric Car.”

“I could fill up a book recounting the many frustrating and absurd experiences I have had charging my car over the last three years and three months — and I haven't even hit 23,000 miles on the car yet.”

Just wait until everybody has an electric car. We will be longing for the days of gasoline lines.

[link removed] ([link removed] cites studies that a quarter or more of charging stations aren’t functional. Many of those that are, remain accessible only during business hours or, If at a hotel, only for paying guests. “I could fill up a book recounting the many frustrating and absurd experiences I have had charging my car over the last three years and three months — and I haven't even hit 23,000 miles on the car yet,” Garza writes. “I’m taking a road trip next month, and if the state of public charging isn't much improved from my last road trip, well, it's going to be hard not to make the switch. The Biden administration promises to spend $7.5 billion installing 500,000 chargers around the country. Given that’s only half of what just California will need, we suspect Ms. Garza and the many other frustrated EV owners in the state may start lobbying for an end to the state’s absurd 2035 funeral for gas-powered cars.

3) Climate Change Is Scaring Young People From Having Kids
The left has long been warning the younger generation that unless we solve global warming - right NOW - the planet will soon be uninhabitable (sic). The fear tactics are paying off, sort of:

“According to a global study of 10,000 people aged 16 to 25, an astonishing 39 per cent said they were hesitant to have children one day because they’re so scared of climate change.”

The media is seizing on this finding as further evidence that we have to shutdown all fossil fuel usage immediately or there will be no more children.

This is twisted logic. The reason more 20 and 30 something’s are going childless is the shameful indoctrination campaign by the climate alarmists that has scared the hell out of young people. Why bring kids into the world if they are going to confront a planetary apocalyptic ending very soon?

This is reminiscent of the population bomb scare/hoax of the 1960s and 1970s that persuaded many women not to have kids in order to do their part to save the planet.

The solution is for the climate change industrial complex to turn down the rhetorical heat, so to speak, before it is too late. During the era of population bomb hysteria, many women didn’t realize the “science” was all false until they were beyond child-bearing age. And so they went childless - which is not a great path to happiness and fulfillment.

There may be a positive Darwinian “survival of the fittest” dynamic at play here with stupid/gullible liberals duped by this false crisis ceasing to reproduce and freedom lovers continuing to make lots of babies.

4) Teacher Union President Randi Weingarten Caught Rewriting Her Own History
We considered a lengthy write-up of Randi Weingarten's mendacity this week, disclaiming responsibility for the prolonged school closures she was instrumental in imposing on America's children. But we can't do much better than this note appended by Twitter to her post:

5) Chart of the Day: We NEED Fossil Fuels
Some readers questioned our claim that 65% of our electric power comes from fossil fuels and only 12% comes from “green” energy. So here are the facts from Biden’s own Energy Department:
