Along with Emily’s List, Women Winning co-sponsored  the Emily Larson for Duluth Mayor fundraiser last week.  Our team had a wonderful time joining her powerful movement in Duluth. The event "We Choose Action: Coming Together for our Pro-Choice Future." is supported by these principles from the Emily Larson campaign: 

WE because only when we come together can we win - for reproductive freedom, for our common values, this campaign, and for Duluth as a community.

CHOOSE because this election is a choice - and there is a clear choice this year: We can continue to build and grow our community with persistence towards shared abundance and opportunity or mire ourselves down in political games, fanning grievances, and othering. And, of course, reproductive choice and body autonomy are issues with local impact, significance and urgency.

ACTION because this campaign, my work as Mayor and our effort together are focused on getting things done. We don't choose to focus on self-promotion; we're too busy doing the actual work.

Flannery obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the College of St. Benedict with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in music. She’s played the harp for over 13 years! In college, she led events programming for the Women’s Center and co-formalized the Queer and Trans Office on campus.  She was the Hynes Scholars Program Coordinator for Sister Nancy Hynes Institute for Women’s Leadership. This powerhouse woman has experience in door-knocking, voter outreach efforts, and donor research. We’re happy to have her on our team!

Women Winning’s Political Leaders of Today (PLOT) training program is designed to help participants build the skills and connections to work on political campaigns in Minnesota. The PLOT program serves as an entry point for energized, pro-choice Minnesotans who are interested in a career in politics, especially those who have not yet volunteered or worked on a political campaign.

Women Winning provides:

- Training in all aspects of electoral campaigns: communication, fundraising, and  field work

- Education about reproductive rights, health, and justice

- Professional development and networking opportunities

- Check-ins, problem-solving coaching, and mentorship

- Connection to Women Winning endorsed candidates and campaigns

Today in St.Paul, Governor Tim Walz signed three recently-passed measures to expand and strengthen safety and body autonomy for healthcare seekers: the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act (RFDA), Trans Refuge Bill, and Conversion Therapy Ban.
