To mark the upcoming Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort, Nottingham’s Council House has been adorned with a three-dimensional replica Coronation crown.

The huge crown measuring 4.2m wide x 3.8m high was installed this week on the Council House in preparation for the Coronation bank holiday weekend beginning on Saturday 6 May.

For this year’s royal celebrations, the crown has been retro-fitted with LED lighting effects, as the Council House joins the UK-wide “Lighting Up The Nation” that will see the country join together and illuminate iconic locations across the UK.

Nottingham Castle will become a Eurovision live site to broadcast the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 on a giant screen.

You can sign up to our ticket ballot for the chance to get a pair of the last few tickets.

There are 100 pairs of tickets available (200 in total). Tickets will be randomly drawn and, if you are successful, you will be notified by email and will have 24 hours to claim.

Only one application per person is permitted and you must be 18 or over. The ballot closes on Wednesday 10 May.

Coronation Concert screening

The Coronation Concert will be shown live on a giant screen in the grounds of Nottingham Castle.

Broadcast from Windsor Castle, the line-up of performers includes *Take That*, *Lionel Richie*, *Katy Perry*, *Andrea Bocelli*, *Sir Bryn Terfel*, *Freya Ridings* and *Alexis Ffrench*, with more to be announced. The concert will be hosted by renowned actor *Hugh Bonneville*.

Performances will also take place from royal patronages such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera, featuring actors *Ncuti Gatwa* and *Mei Mac*.

Tickets for the screening cost just ÂŁ1 (inclusive of VAT and booking fees).

Drop in to your local library to take part in free activities for the Coronation.

Children can make their own crown and flag ready for the big day, plus bookmarks, bunting and more, or they can build a castle fit for the King out of Lego.

Adults can colour some bunting to help decorate the library and also collect a special seed paper to plant to commemorate the day (while stocks last).

Refreshments are available too.

The Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America and is awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion.

It will be on display at the Motorpoint Arena on Friday 5 May, and anyone with a tournament pass or game day ticket for the *2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship - Division I, Group A* will be able to take a photo with the Stanley Cup in the foyer.
