We’re closing in on an important monthly fundraising deadline, so we wanted to update you on where things currently stand here in CA-49 and why meeting our end-of-month target is so important.
Here are a few things that are top-of-mind here at Team Levin HQ:
- We officially have a 2024 opponent. A Republican challenger has filed paperwork to unseat Mike. We now expect more will throw their hat in the ring. Bottom line: our race is already picking up.
- The NRCC is escalating its attacks against Mike. They’ve already named him as one of their top targets, and they continue to pump out press hits with false smears. We need to push back against these early attacks -- especially as new opponents enter the race.
- Mike is the most at-risk Democratic House member in California. Prominent election watchers have all identified CA-49 as a key battleground that could decide House control. Mike is the only California incumbent defending one of these battlegrounds.
- It’s been a slower than expected fundraising month. April has admittedly been a down month in grassroots fundraising so far. Our numbers need to tick up in response to having an opponent, and we’re hoping YOU can help us get back on track.
