Republicans are risking a default if they don’t get their way -- which would cause “an unprecedented fiscal catastrophe” in a matter of weeks, according to The Washington Post.
Our economy isn’t a political football to be thrown around.
House Republicans are putting their reckless agenda over what’s best for our country. I always put country over partisan politics -- I have ever since I joined the Naval Academy at 18 years old and I will continue to do so in Congress.
But I need your help -- we’re facing a tough race and our next deadline is a few days away. Will you chip in before the end of the month?
These could be some of the real-life consequences of the GOP’s plan:
- Over 10 million without health care
- 30 million fewer veterans outpatient visits, including 219,000 fewer in NJ
- 100,000 families without access to childcare, including 2,900 in NJ
- Slowed down Social Security checks and over 1 million retirees’ pensions at risk
- Millions of job losses
- Trillions in families’ savings wiped out
- Higher electricity and energy costs
It would be a crisis of the GOP’s own making, and what’s worse -- I don’t think half of Republicans even know what’s in their own plan.
We’re building our campaign so we can bring home another win in NJ-11 and win back the House from GOP control. Any amount you can contribute before the deadline would support our efforts.
Thank you for all you do,
Mikie
