John, the radical Republicans in the House have gone too far once again: This time they’re calling for an almost $30 billion cut to veterans funding.
That’s right, close to $30 BILLION in cuts to the VA and other veteran services.
That means millions fewer healthcare visits. It means a backlog of unprocessed claims, keeping veterans from accessing their hard-earned benefits. It means an understaffed VA. It means failing the men and women who put their lives on the line for us.
As a veteran, this issue is deeply personal to me. But for all Americans, the idea of turning our backs on our veterans should be unconscionable.
John, let me be clear: I’m sick and tired of right-wing politicians wrapping themselves in the American flag while they’re selling out the very people who risked their lives to defend the flag.
Our veterans deserve better, and I will fight like hell to ensure Kevin McCarthy’s disastrous plan never comes to fruition. But the best way we can stop the radical right’s anti-American agenda is by taking back control of the House, and that starts by defending seats like mine. If there’s anything you can chip in today to help me win in 2024, it would be deeply appreciated.
