Republicans in Montana have banned lawmaker Rep. Zooey Zephyr – the first transgender legislator in the state – from participating in legislative debates on the Montana House floor. This discriminatory censorship is outrageous and unacceptable.
Trans and nonbinary folks deserve to show up as their full, authentic selves in every space – but after Zooey spoke out about transgender rights and the harm that would occur if Montana passed a measure to ban gender-affirming care for transgender youth, she was attacked and silenced. Now, she needs our support.
