On Sunday, the WA State Legislature wrapped up the legislative session after 105 days of working around the clock to better the lives of Washingtonians.
Communities across the state will be healthier and safer as a result of the important legislation passed this year. Here is just a snapshot of what the Legislature accomplished in four short months:
✔ Invested nearly $3 billion for public schools with historic funding in special education
✔ Banned assault weapons
✔ Invested over $1 billion to strengthen our behavioral health system
✔ Protected abortion access in our state
✔ Invested more than $1 billion in housing to address our affordable housing crisis
✔ And so much more!
Legislators cannot raise campaign funds during the legislative session so they can focus all their attention on passing important legislation.
But as of Monday, the legislative fundraising freeze has been lifted! And, we are hitting the ground running to prepare for 2024.
