Friends,

Don’t forget the 350 Fairfax general meeting on Thursday, February 6, at 7:30 pm! This is what’s on the agenda:

  • Learn: Charlie Forbes, Fairfax County’s Chief for Solid Waste Recycling, Compliance, and Planning, will return to update us on the county’s plans for waste management in 2020 and beyond. Forbes has been with the County since 2005, moving over from his role as Deputy Regional Director with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. He is an expert in waste generation and composition analysis, landfill gas-to-energy project development, and long-range solid waste planning, and he always has great, practical, actionable information to share. You don't want to miss this talk!
  • Discuss: Last week we presented more than 3,000 signed Fossil Free Fairfax petitions to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors during their first public hearing of the year. We’ll be talking about how the public hearing went, what next steps for this campaign should be, and how Fairfax County’s Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan process is going.
  • Act: There is always someone to call when the General Assembly is in session! We’ll give you the latest action alerts for Green New Deal and plastics legislation being considered down in Richmond.

RSVP here or on Facebook.
