We knew from the beginning that there was never any intent on making private schools more accessible for students. This was a targeted way to subsidize unaccountable education for the wealthiest Iowans while leaving the majority of us behind.
Iowa used to have one of the best education systems in the country. We did it by investing in our teachers and our schools, not undermining them at every turn. This comes on the heels of Kim Reynolds signature education bill to ban books and out students in their classrooms.
