The first few months of this race have been challenging, but we’ve pushed through time and time again. As we map out this next pivotal phase of the campaign, here’s what we know:
- Our race has already been rated as a “toss-up” and “lean Democrat” by top political analysts.
- Elected officials, local leaders, activists, and advocacy groups are continuing to gather in support of our campaign. I’m grateful for their belief in my vision for CA-47.
- GOP leadership brought in a huge fundraising haul last quarter – and they’re dedicating the bulk of those funds to protecting vulnerable Republican incumbents and flipping competitive seats like ours.
Now, we need to ensure our campaign has the necessary resources to clear all of the hurdles on the path ahead.

We’ve worked hard to boost our campaign to the top of the Democratic field for CA-47, but we can’t take anything for granted now.
This seat was a top target for national GOP spending last cycle, with Rep. Porter winning re-election by a razor-thin margin –
and it’s clear I will be facing just as tough of a fight this time around.
