đŸ„ Can I get a drumroll please, John?

I am so excited to introduce you to our first 2023 New American Hero Award winner, Colorado State Senator Julie Gonzales!

Colorado State Senator Julie Gonzales is our first 2023 New American Hero Awardee!

Senator Gonzales shows us what it means to be a trailblazing leader. She was elected to serve in the Colorado State Senate in 2018 and has been shaking up politics as usual ever since by calling out inequities, challenging establishment ideas, and ensuring that immigrant and BIPOC voices are included at every stage of the policymaking process. She also serves as a trainer for New American Leaders, empowering the next generation of leaders to own their power in their own communities. As a fellow Coloradan, I can share firsthand the impact she has had in changing the face of representation in our state and am so proud to see her honored at the New American Hero Awards!

On June 22nd, in honor of Immigrant Heritage Month, the NAL family will come together in Washington, DC to celebrate our movement and incredible leaders like Julie at the New American Hero Awards, a part of the Power & Policy Summit. And since this is our first in person celebration since 2019, we're doing it up right. We will have plenty of tasty food, great music, and a rooftop overlooking our nation's capital ready for an evening of catching up with old friends, networking with fellow immigrant leaders, and dancing the night away. All we are missing is you.

This promises to be a can't miss party. Make sure you're on the guest list—RSVP today!

Hope to see you there!
