Friend, My mom, Kirsten Engel, has always prioritized running people-powered campaigns. Even while her opponents were accepting big checks from special interests, my mom stuck to her principles. She got into politics to fight for her constituents, not for corporate agendas. And last year, despite being outspent 6:1, my mom lost by a tiny margin — proving how powerful grassroots support can be.
