Yesterday, House Republicans passed their debt ceiling bill that will completely topple our climate progress.

This is the latest and most lethal attack on the historic climate progress our SEEC Members made with the Inflation Reduction Act. Make no mistake, John: this is a hostage situation. And a sustainable future is hanging in the balance.

This is no time to turn back. Climate change is here, posing real-time threats to our lives as we know it. We cannot let these rollbacks stand. Help SEEC Members fight back against Speaker McCarthy’s climate-denying agenda with a donation today.

We cannot let this bill become law, John. The reforms McCarthy’s proposing will have dire consequences on our capabilities to stop the worst climate change effects from happening. He’s taken aim at:

  • Ending renewable energy credits for wind and solar;
  • Limiting rooftop solar growth in homes and businesses;
  • Stopping the expansion of electric vehicle sales and EV charging stations;
  • Credits for updating utilities like heat pumps, hot water heaters, insulation, and all energy efficiency improvements;
  • Repeals funding that was largely going to address pollution in low-income and disadvantaged communities;
  • Repeals Methane Emissions Reduction Program;
  • And much, much more.

There is still time to save these vital initiatives. President Biden vowed in his State of the Union address to veto any rollbacks on the Inflation Reduction Act, and he will need our SEEC Members at his side fighting back against McCarthy’s climate denialism.
