APHA's Policy Action Institute brings together public health leaders, students
and advocacy experts for a collaborative two-day event to discuss proven and proposed
policy solutions to tackle today’s most pressing health threats.
Day 1, June 15 - Policy Action Institute
The first day of the conference will consist of various keynote
and panel discussions featuring speakers ranging from leaders in the Biden Administration to youth activists.
Day 2, June 16 - Putting Policy Into Action
Putting
Policy Into Action, the optional second day of the Policy Action Institute for
in-person attendees, is designed to make attendees better advocates for public
health. Attendees will learn by hearing firsthand from experts in advocacy, lobbying
and communications and by practicing skills in a small group setting. By the end of the day, attendees will have:

Improved their advocacy and communication skills
- Learned about tools and
resources available to become a better advocate

Learned how to better
build and develop advocacy campaigns appropriate to a wide array of audiences

Practiced their pitch and received real-time feedback from experts in the field
