John – it's nearly summertime and unfortunately, my campaign is still paying down the bills we accrued to win in November.

You see, in the days before Election Day, pundits moved our race to a toss-up, and I was getting calls from other Senators concerned that we couldn’t win. 

Polls were tightening and the GOP was shoveling money into New Hampshire to defeat us. 

We had to take on debt to fund our response. The good news is that it worked, and we won.

Those outstanding bills make emails like this one extremely important.

If we’re going to pay it down according to schedule, I need 17 people to donate to this email. I hope that I can count on you to be one of them. Folks like you typically give about $3, but I’d be grateful for any amount you can manage.
