Statehouses around the country have become testing grounds for extreme, undemocratic policies and legislation. In some places the political process itself has been hijacked, the interests of the American public taking a backseat to special interests.
Case in point: Earlier this month, two state representatives were expelled from the Tennessee legislature for participating in a peaceful protest demanding action on gun violence. A power grab by the majority that disempowered the voters’ choice of their own elected officials.
It's now more clear than ever that we need leaders in our communities and halls of power who are there to serve the people, not political parties. Our democracy is at stake, and Americans deserve more from their leadership.
That’s where New Politics comes in: we’re here to recruit, train, and support the next generation of leaders, who will put service over self and fight for what’s right in office.
We have plans to advise and elect more candidates than ever in 2023 and beyond, but we need to raise another $10,000 before the end of the month to stay on track. You can help us fight back against anti-democratic forces around the country by chipping in now.
I can tell you one thing for sure after doing this work for 10 years: when we support servant leaders, we put honest and trustworthy people in office.
Your contribution allows us to recruit, train, and elect the servant leaders that voters trust to protect our democracy. Donate now to empower and support New Politics candidates.
In service,
Emily
