In 1946, President Truman signed the National School Lunch Act into law, a program aimed at providing low-cost or free food for school kids.
It’s a fantastic program that helps a lot of families, but I believe it’s our responsibility to do even more.
I recently introduced my first bill in the House, and it aims to make the program accessible for more kids and expand who can benefit from it.
The School Meals Expansion Act (H.R. 2567) will help a lot of students and make things easier for families. Can you help by signing my petition asking the House to pass H.R. 2567 right away?
While House Republicans are holding the economy hostage and squabbling over culture wars, American families are looking for solutions to combat rising costs.
That’s what this bill would do — it would expand who is eligible for the NSLA program and provide school lunches to more kids, taking pressure off of families who need it.
We owe it to families to pass this bill ASAP. Will you add your name to the petition and tell Congress to pass the School Meals Expansion Act?
Thanks for your support,
Morgan McGarvey
