Hi John,
What an incredible weekend! With over 60,000 people gathering outside the Houses of Parliament on Saturday, The Big One was one of the largest climate protests the UK has ever seen. Bringing over 200 organisations together into the same organising space, it has also been a monumental step forwards in our ability to work together for climate action.
The Global Justice Now tent was a vibrant hub of energy and activity all weekend. As well as joining the picket lines, we hosted 14 events from Friday to Sunday, which ranged from extremely-well-attended to so-popular-you-couldn’t-get-near-the-tent. Our Corporate Courts vs Climate Justice workshop was especially popular - completely packing out the tent two days in a row!
On Saturday, dozens of people showed up to hear from Lourdes Huanca, a Peruvian activist and feminist who spoke to us of the fight against oligarchy and patriarchy in Peru, and for full equality for women and migrants everywhere.
Comedian Mark Thomas closed the Friday for us with his Evening Rant and, as well as giving us all a good laugh, he left us with the rousing words: “There is not one single progessive law in this country that didn’t start as a popular movement, with grass-roots people taking action. It’s always up to people to change things. We make the change.”
This weekend has shown us that we can work across divides and differences for a common goal; it gives us a very real reason to be hopeful. We are learning to work together, to expose the injustice and unsustainablity of our current economic system, and fight for something better.
We couldn't have done it without all our incredible volunteers and activists. Thank you everyone who helped with setting up, packing away, outreach, and in particular our amazing youth network, who ran some incredible, and extremely popular, workshops.

This weekend was a real victory, but now we can't just go back to business as usual. We have to act like this really is an emergency. We need to scale up. We need groups of people organising in every town across the country. We urge you to get connected and get organised, and to support the work we're doing to build a fairer world for everyone.
Global Justice Now is made up of a network of activists and local groups – people like you who take action in their communities to challenge corporate power and the policies that cause inequality all over the world.

Thank you for everything you do. We recognise that everyone's support takes different forms and we are incredibly grateful for every way in which people work for a better world. Our website has more info on how to take action online ([link removed]) .
Together we can win this.
