Friend –

The D.C. Crisis Response Coalition came together to transform our local crisis response system into one that provides care, not punishment, to people going through a mental health crisis. We are excited to launch our website dccrisisresponse.org <[link removed]>, and policy platform that shows how to build an effective D.C. Crisis Response system. Our goal is to ensure that District residents with mental health disabilities receive the care they deserve with:

* Someone to Talk to: A crisis call center staffed with mental health professionals who respond to and triage mental health emergency calls

* Someone to Respond: Mental health professionals who can respond to emergencies without police and address crises that the call center cannot resolve over the phone

* A Place to Go: Crisis receiving centers that provide medically appropriate care to people experiencing different levels of mental health emergencies

And on May 3 at 12 p.m., we'd love for you to join us <[link removed]> at Freedom Plaza (1325 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) for a celebration of this vision for a crisis response system. Learn about the policy platform, hear from coalition members, and celebrate with food from local vendors, music, and art! ASL and Spanish interpretation will be available.

We hope to see you there!
