The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released eight datasets from the 2016?2020 Federal Law Enforcement Agency Deaths in Custody Reporting Program (FDCRP) through the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data. The datasets include separate files for arrest-related deaths and deaths in custody for 2016, 2017, and 2020. For the combined 2018 and 2019 collection, there is one file for arrest-related deaths and one file for deaths in custody.
Some files in this data collection have special restrictions. Please visit ResearchDataGov.org for more information on accessing these data files.
