Dear John,
In an era of hyperpartisanship, it's more important than ever for young legislators to come together on policies that will shape the future of our communities, states, and nation.
This month, young legislators in the New York State Assembly launched the New York Future Caucus - the 33rd state to officially join MAP's State Future Caucus Network.
Their collaborative efforts across the political spectrum will usher in a new approach to politics in the Empire State - one that focuses on the future and the needs of the next generation.
“I am proud to serve as Democratic co-chair of the New York Future Caucus, and look forward to working with Assemblyman Ra and colleagues on both sides of the aisle to secure our state’s future,” said Assemblymember Alex Bores, Democratic co-chair . “ While there are many issues on which we may disagree, I look forward to working together on common-sense legislation to move New York forward.”
“New Yorkers need forward thinking legislators who will work across the aisle and focus on results that will benefit our state for generations,” said Assemblymember Ed Ra, Republican co-chair. “I’m thrilled to chair this caucus alongside my colleagues in the General Assembly. This Future Caucus is a crucial step towards setting partisan politics aside to tackle the tough issues head on, and I’m eager to continue this work.”
