A provincial release recently shared that thanks to an increase of $8.8 million annual funding in the 2023-24 provincial budget, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) improvements will be supported for 31 Saskatchewan communities.

New inter-facility ambulances roll out in Central Alberta

Additional ambulances dedicated to non-urgent patient transfers hit the road in central Alberta recentl, as a way of easing EMS pressures and improving response times.
The Central Zone Inter-Facility Transfer program will ultimately see 10 ambulances phased into service, with the first in place April 18 and the final unit expected to be operational in July.

Ambulance Paramedics of BC advocates for paramedics to be on Community Support Teams

The President of the Ambulance Paramedics of BC is pushing to have community support teams expanded to include paramedics responding to calls in communities such as Kamloops. Union president Troy Clifford says he has met with over 100 local governments over the past year, looking at how paramedics could support the community with homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues.
