Team,

The Trump administration doesn’t seem to understand its own healthcare policy. During a 2020 campaign stop in Iowa, a doctor recently confronted Vice President Mike Pence about the Trump administration’s proposed cuts to Medicaid — but the Vice President couldn’t explain.

While Mike Pence seems lost for words about the plan to allow states to cap Medicaid spending for millions of Americans — we shouldn’t be:

Mike Pence when confronted about a Trump plan to cut Medicaid: Uhh, I hadn't heard about cuts to Medicaid...

This latest proposal put forward by the Trump administration would allow states to reduce benefits for millions of Americans who gained coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

This is part of a long-held goal of Republicans to reduce funding for programs like Medicaid and Medicare, in addition to efforts to repeal the ACA.

We will continue to defend access to healthcare in California — protecting life-saving laws like the ACA. But team, with these attacks on healthcare escalating, we need to come together. Sign your name now:

Thank you,
