Senate Republicans have shown us what’s important to them: keeping power for themselves and their party. Indivisibles,
Typical Republican: yesterday, Iowa Senator Joni Ernst said that Republicans could immediately impeach Joe Biden if he won the presidency.
That’s right: the party that’s been complaining about a so-called “partisan impeachment process” is committing to impeaching a (hypothetical) Democratic president -- before he’s even won an election, let alone had a chance to do anything impeachable. 🙄
Senate Republicans have shown us what’s important to them -- keeping power for themselves and their party.
Beating Trump won’t be enough to stop this. As long as there’s a Republican Senate, nothing will get done. That’s why we’ve launched the Payback Project: a million-dollar campaign over the next nine months to defeat the worst Republicans and take back the Senate.
The Payback Project is massive: we’ll be calling, knocking, organizing, and running every ad we can afford to pay them back with a resounding defeat in November. We need you to join us. Here are two ways to get started:
- Sign up to text voters in key swing states. You’ll help voters mobilize in their states to kick these senators out of office and elect progressive candidates. This is an especially great tool if you already have good senators, or if yours aren’t up for re-election this year: you can still have an impact on making the Senate truly represent the people.
- Vote on where we should buy an ad. We'd love to place full-page newspaper ads in every state with a GOP senator to tell voters how their senators prioritized party over country. But those ads cost a lot (often over $40,000!) and we don't have the budget to do every state -- so we're asking you to vote on which senator you'd like to target with our first newspaper ad. Then, donate to help fund this ad and all our work.
Republicans have been working for decades to take power away from the people -- Joni Ernst’s comments are just one more example. Let’s take our power back.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
