Young Black students and other students of color in our communities deserve safe and welcoming schools.
But right now, state legislators in Wisconsin are considering passing a bill, AB69, which would do the opposite. Instead of providing students with the mental health supports, restorative and transformative justice practices, and trusted adult leadership they deserve, this bill would require schools deemed at higher risk of incidents to employ armed police officers.

We deserve to determine what safety looks like in our schools and the power to implement policies and practices that transform our communities. AB69 and other state bills like this erode local control of education and student safety by making statewide requirements that restrict local decision making authority.
Join us in support of WI-based organizations like Freedom Inc. where young people have strategically organized community commitments to keep cops out of schools and promoted alternatives to punitive policies and practices.
