Today marks 100 days since I was sworn in as the 34th Comptroller of Maryland!
We’ve accomplished so much since January 16. Check out a few numbers I’m particularly proud of:
One of the most important parts of the past 100 days was a busy tax season. I was excited to kick it off at WJZ to encourage folks to file their returns early.
I’ve also been active on the Board of Public Works. Earlier this month, we made history with two women presiding for the first time since 2002 (and the first-ever woman of color chaired the meeting!)
It was great to join the leaders of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and our Governor to rally for creating safer communities all across Maryland. Working to prevent gun violence through evidence-based strategies has been a cause I’ve championed for years, and I look forward to continuing to work on this critical issue!
I’ve also spent the past few months touring Comptroller branch offices around the state! Wheaton is one of our busiest branch offices, and they do a great job at helping people where they are, including many of our immigrant families!
These are just a few highlights from my first 100 days in office! I will continue to ensure the Comptroller’s office focuses on building more equitable, more resilient, and more prosperous communities in every corner of the state. I can’t wait to see what the next 100 days bring!
