Another week of session means another week of important bills that would improve the lives of young people across NH. This week, there are (2) priority bills being heard, that have been noted as a priority by the Young Dems Caucus as a whole. Check it out below and help take action!

Enacting CA Emissions Standards:  creating options for NH car-buyers who are interested in Low Emissions & Zero Emissions vehicles

Conserving Biomass Industry & Jobs: Two YDs who live in districts that know the real impacts of losing the biomass industry are working to keep our state's biomass plants open as a competitive alternative to fossil fuels & conserving NH forests

Why support this bill?

• NH is the only Northeast State (north of Virginia) that has *not* adopted the CA Emissions Standard yet
• Manufacturers are *not* shipping Zero Emissions and Low Emissions vehicles (ZEV/LEVs) to dealers in NH as a direct result
• The vast majority of people who are looking for a new car in their own community are *not* purchasing or leasing ZEV/LEVs in NH

Why support this bill?

• Biomass is a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels that assists NH in becoming energy independent
• Biomass serves an important function in keeping N.H. forest lands as forests
• Hundreds of jobs in New Hampshire are directly linked to the biomass industry. Supporting this industry means supporting our forests and people, too
