The Biden administration has introduced new rules to Title IX. These new rules make it illegal for schools to exclude males from women’s teams unless they have developed detailed sport-specific eligibility rules that demonstrate the unfairness of male participation in that particular sport while minimizing “harm” to trans-identified athletes. Now we have less than 30 days to stop the illegal rewrite of Title IX as applied to athletics.
The insurmountable evidence shows that biological men who go through male puberty maintain a physical advantage over women. And even if they are regularly taking estrogen, these advantages remain physically ingrained in their bodies. The Biden administration ignores these facts as well as the voices of the women who have been directly impacted by competing against biological men.
IW's Peyton McNabb, a high school senior from North Carolina, recently spoke out after receiving multiple debilitating injuries from a vicious volleyball spike to the head by a trans-identifying student athlete: “My ability to compete was taken away from me. Having to play against biological males is not a level playing field and it is most definitely not safe.”
IW's Riley Gaines, one of the fastest female swimmers in the entire country, tied with transgender athlete Lia Thomas down to the hundredth of a second at the 2022 NCAA Championships. Despite nearly beating and tying a biological male in the women's category, Riley was not given the trophy—it went to the man for "photo purposes."
By advancing the new Title IX rules, the White House is endorsing discrimination against female athletes. Allowing men, who have undeniable, significant physical advantages, to compete on teams created specifically for women is exactly the kind of discrimination that Title IX was meant to redress.
