Dear Friend,
Recently, I was honored to present U.S. Army Major General Phillip Churn of Woodbridge, VA with the Legion of Merit a military award given for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.
Major General Churn earned this medal more than five years ago but ran into trouble having it awarded after moving on to his next assignment. That’s when he reached out to my office, and with the help of my staff, we were able to jump through the right bureaucratic hoops and make sure that Major General Churn received his well-earned award. You can watch the ceremony in the video below:
As Senator, my first priority is serving folks across the Commonwealth, especially our men and women in uniform, as well as veterans who have proudly served our country. Oftentimes, that means cutting through the red tape or intervening on their behalf when they need assistance.
If you or a veteran or service member you know needs help with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 540-857-2676 or using this form
I couldn’t agree more with the advice Major General Churn offers in that video to his fellow veterans and service members: you’ve earned your benefits and honors through service to our country, so reach out to your representatives if you’re experiencing a problem with the military or VA bureaucracy. My team and I stand ready to assist you however we can.
If you want to share your thoughts about an issue that’s important to you, you can send me an email any time using the form on my Senate website. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
|
