John, I wanted you to hear it from me: This week, I endorsed Helen Gym for Mayor of Philadelphia.
A fellow educator, a community organizer, and a former City Councilmember, Helen Gym and I have a lot in common. We're both parents, educators, and organizers who got into public service because we saw our kids and communities being left behind.
Helen is the only candidate in the race with a transformative vision for community safety and strengthening Philadelphia schools. And just like our movement, her campaign relies on grassroots people power.
John, I'm proud that Helen is also championing our Green New Deal for Public Schools to address Philadelphia's school facilities crisis. She's got the experience and vision to lead Philadelphia. Her people-led agenda will be transformative in the Mayor's office — and it's key to have allies at every level of government fighting for our shared goals of progress.
