Friend,

Last week, we asked you whether Courage California should officially call
for Senator Dianne Feinstein’s resignation.

Nearly 10,000 of you answered, and the result is clear: Sen. Feinstein
must go.

[ [link removed] ]We are kicking off our campaign to ask Sen. Dianne Feinstein to step
down and let a strong California Democrat take her place. Will you donate?

Most of you agreed that Sen. Feinstein had served California well and
deserved our thanks -- but she needs to step down. Here are just a few of
the more than 4,000 comments we received:

There need to be “term limits” to prevent this exact situation from
happening. She needs to understand what her absences are doing to our
country at this moment in time. That issue is far bigger than her
personal preference of getting to decide when her career is over. By
doing nothing, she has sullied her long career of excellent service.

Sen. Feinstein has done good work for a long time, but her remaining in
office yet being unable to conduct business in a closely-divided Senate
is a serious problem. She needs to resign.

Ask gently, ask politely, ask after honoring her service, but ask.

And more than 100 Courage members brought up the memory of Ruth Bader
Ginsberg, who waited too long to resign and gave Donald Trump the
opportunity to install a third Supreme Court Justice who has gone on to
strip us of our rights. Every day that Sen. Feinstein is not in the Senate
is another day that Biden’s judicial nominees can’t be confirmed. We can’t
let that go on.

[ [link removed] ]Donate now to help Californians call on Sen. Feinstein to retire so the
country can move forward.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has clearly stated that Republicans
will not let Democrats provide a temporary replacement for Sen. Feinstein,
either in the Senate or on the Judiciary Committee. The only choice is for
Sen. Feinstein to resign.

So here’s what’s next. We need to start organizing calls to Sen.
Feinstein’s office from her constituents so that she can see the vast
majority are in favor of her stepping down. We are going to write a Stand
for Courage Letter to Sen. Feinstein, thanking her for her service and
asking her to act in the interest of her country once again. And we’re
going to run social media ads and work with partner organizations to get
as many people as possible to sign on.

We are not taking this call lightly, but it’s necessary to our democracy
and our future. To make it work, we need as much support as possible.
