The House is expected to vote today on Kevin McCarthy’s plan to slash services and take us to the brink of default.
John,
Today at noon ET, join the Coalition on Human Needs, coalition allies, and members of Congress for the “CARE, NOT CUTS” rally at the U.S. Capitol. The event will be livestreamed and moderated by CHN’s own Deborah Weinstein.
You can also join us in person: U.S. Capitol, Upper D Park, Area 14 (Close to the South Capitol Metro)
The House is expected to vote today on Kevin McCarthy’s bill to slash services and take us to the brink of default. This is a bad deal for working people and a good deal for wealthy and corporate tax cheats. McCarthy’s bill would not only deeply cut funding for critical programs including housing, nutrition, health care, and the Social Security Administration, it would also roll back funding for the IRS that’s meant to crack down on millionaire, billionaire, and corporate tax dodgers.
And while you’re watching, click here to tell your Representative to VOTE NO on McCarthy’s reckless bill to slash services and take us to the brink of default -- thanks for joining in and helping to send more than 50,000 letters.
Together, we’re demanding Congress invest in our families and communities, paid for by making the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share.
