John --
By most accounts, there are still a lot of undecided voters in this election.
The simple reason for that is, unlike my opponent, I haven’t been in Congress for 15 years. I still have a lot of work to do to introduce myself to the voters of Illinois’ Third District, and to let them know about the major differences between me and my opponent.
Here’s the undeniable truth, John: What people learn about me and about what’s at stake in this election will be decided by which campaign can reach more voters before the March 17th primary.
But getting our campaign’s message out to more people takes money, and that’s why I send emails like this one. We can’t rely on machine politics and shady special interests to come to our rescue. I’m counting on you -- with just six weeks to go, will you chip in and help our team reach voters across the Third District?

I want voters to know the choice they have in front of them. I like to say, if you tend to agree with Democrats on the big issues facing us today, then I’m your candidate. If you don’t, well, my opponent has a rich history of opposing Democratic policies and priorities.
On healthcare, we couldn’t be more different. Dan Lipinski was the only Illinois Democrat to vote against Obamacare -- which expanded access to thousands of people in our district -- and now he calls me extreme because I believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
If you care about protecting our climate, my opponent has long supported the fossil fuel industry (he voted for the Keystone XL pipeline) and mocks me for wanting to take climate change seriously. (That’s why I just got the endorsement of the Sierra Club.)
If you care about creating jobs and making sure people are compensated fairly for their work, I’m your candidate. Dan Lipinski has spent his eight terms in Congress cozying up to corporate interests -- and he has opposed raising the minimum wage to $15/hour.
When it comes to immigration, Dan Lipinski voted to deport Dreamers, supported building a border fence, and called Donald Trump a “champion” of reform. I couldn’t be more appalled by his judgment on this issue, and his failure to serve the people he represents.
And on issues of equality: I’ve long been an outspoken champion for LGBTQ rights. My opponent still (STILL!) doesn’t believe in marriage equality.
The list goes on and on and on and on. Dan Lipinski calls himself a Democrat, but he simply doesn’t act like one -- at least not on the issues that matter to the voters I talk to in the Third District.
Right now, way too many voters don’t know about the differences between us.
The next six weeks are about making sure everyone is aware of what’s at stake on March 17th. It’d mean the world to me if you could chip in today to help do just that:
