John–

By early February every year, the United States surpasses the number of
gun deaths that our peer countries experience in an entire calendar year.

That's why we're commemorating the 2nd annual National Gun Violence
Survivors Week.

Throughout this week, Moms Demand Action chapters and Students Demand
Action groups across the country will be hosting events to honor survivors
and discuss solutions to gun violence. Additionally, gun violence
survivors — including those who have witnessed an act of gun violence,
been threatened or wounded with a gun, or had someone they cared for
wounded or killed with a gun — will be sharing their stories and allies
will be amplifying their voices.

Violence Survivors Week.

Tragically, America's gun death rate is 11 times that of our peer
countries. At least 58 percent of American adults or someone they care for
have personally experienced gun violence in their lifetimes.

These numbers paint a clear picture: gun violence impacts many of us.

That's why I hope you'll join me this week in honoring survivors and the
lives of those taken by our nation's gun violence crisis. With your help,
we can demand action.
