** Anti-Free Speech AOC Cheers Tucker Carlson’s Departure From Fox News
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ([link removed]) (AOC) took to social media on Monday ([link removed]) to respond to news that cable news megastar Tucker Carlson was leaving the Fox News Channel — a day after the radical New York Democrat accused him of “incitement of violence.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded to Carlson’s departure with a single word: “Wow.”
Then she retweeted a clip of her Sunday interview with former Biden White House press propagandist Jen Psaki ([link removed]) in which she claimed falsely that Carlson and “other folks on Fox” promote incitement of violence.
In that interview, AOC told an apparently approving Psaki that she wants to pass laws to restrict what Carlson — and journalists in general — can say. That would be a violation of the First Amendment, of course, but leftists are no fans of free speech.
She said, “We have very real issues with what is permissible on air. We saw that with January 6, and we saw that in the lead-up to January 6. How we navigate questions, not just of freedom of speech but also accountability for incitement of violence, this is the line that we have to really explore through law.”
Carlson has never incited violence on his show — if he had, Democrats would already have pounced. But AOC’s comrades in Congress and in the media have incited violence innumerable times on behalf of the domestic terror groups Black Lives Matter ([link removed]) and Antifa ([link removed]) . That’s different, though, because they’re ideological allies of the Democrats.

** Characterizing a Parental Bill of Rights as “Fascism”
------------------------------------------------------------
In a series of floor speeches on March 23, 2023, House Democrats took turns denouncing HR 5, the Parents Bill of Rights, characterizing ([link removed]) the legislation as a fascist measure that would not only lead to book bans, but would also prevent children from learning about gay-and-transgender issues as well as the Jewish Holocaust.
Sponsored ([link removed]) by Rep. Julia Letlow (R-Louisiana), HR 5 sought ([link removed]) to: (a) require all public school districts to disclose their respective curricula, materials, and related budgets to the parents of the children in those districts; (b) require parental consent before students could participate in any surveys at school; (c) prohibit schools from selling student information “for commercial or financial gain”; and (d) guarantee parents’ right to speak at school board meetings, meet personally with their children’s teachers, and be informed of any significant disciplinary, academic, or psychological issues involving those youngsters.
Demanding that Republicans “keep culture wars out of classrooms,” Ocasio-Cortez said ([link removed]) : “Our children need urgent and aggressive educational solutions. When we talk about progressive values, I can say what my progressive value is, and that is freedom over fascism.”
