Team —
Pat knows that freedom includes every American’s right to breathe clean air and drink clean water, which is why he stands firmly against any efforts to deregulate contaminants in the Hudson River and other water sources or dump toxic waste into this vital waterway.
In just the past few weeks, Pat helped block Holtec’s efforts to dump radioactive waste from the former Indian Point nuclear plant.
Far too many people in the Hudson Valley don’t have access to clean water. There is a disproportionately high rate of asthma in our district because of toxic chemicals in the Hudson River. For too long, corporate polluters have dumped highly toxic pollutants like PFAS into our drinking water.
It’s unacceptable and deeply unfair that folks in our community can’t access clean water. And it’s cruel that some Republicans are trying to repeal regulations that prevent even more chemicals from entering our waterways.
Pat has made it clear: the greatest threat to our future is our rapidly changing climate. Clean air and water shouldn’t be a luxury. They are a fundamental right — a right under threat from Republican leaders and greedy corporations that don’t care about the drinking water of the Hudson River community.
If you stand with Pat in the efforts to protect the Hudson River and other sources of water, please add your name to his petition today. [[link removed]]
