First, a federal judge in Texas ordered the FDA to pull Mifepristone – the abortion pill that’s been federally approved for more than 20 years – from the market.

Then, the Supreme Court temporarily blocked the ruling, allowing medication abortion to remain available for now, while another court dominated by conservative judges decides whether to once again restrict reproductive freedom. In the meantime, Republican state legislators and legal activists are upping their attacks on abortion rights around the country.
