John, there are more than 1.2 million Pennsylvanians eligible to vote but not registered.
Among Pennsylvania’s Black, Latino, Indigenous, and other communities of color, that problem is particularly pronounced, due to far too many years of disenfranchisement and neglect.
Our work to address that has once again put us in the news:
“I will tell you that of all of the black folks here in the commonwealth who are eligible to vote, twenty one percent of all black folks who are eligible to vote are not registered. That number jumps to thirty five percent for Latinos eligible to vote in the commonwealth, but not registered. And that number is even greater in the Asian Pacific Islander community, forty one percent of the Asian Pacific Islander community here in Pennsylvania eligible to vote and not registered.” - Kadida Kenner
“We want to make sure that we're getting people an opportunity to get out there and vote." - Dyneco Gibson, Regional Organizing Director (Chester and Delaware counties)
We collected 20,000 voter registration forms in our first full year of operation, and for our second, despite the challenges of an underappreciated “off-year” election, we’re aiming to register 25,000 Pennsylvanians centering Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth. Will you donate $10 right now to help us stay on track to that goal and register folks before the May 1st voter registration deadline?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.
REGISTER ONE VOTER → $40
REGISTER TWO VOTERS → $80
REGISTER THREE VOTERS → $120
Whatever works for you
In solidarity,
Team NPP
