Dear Democrat,

Last night, I was elected as the new Chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. For me, a kid from Central Massachusetts, assuming this post is the honor of a lifetime – because I love the Democratic Party and everything it stands for. I am grateful to have a chance to serve a party that has given me, my family and our country so much.

I’ve always believed that if you have an opportunity to make a difference, you have an obligation to try. I am thrilled to be given this opportunity to serve, and I am honored to do so alongside Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and our terrific elected leaders at all levels of government – all of whom embody our party’s values in everything they do.

What makes the Democratic Party so great is our party is not just the names on the ticket, it is all of you. I look forward to working together with the Democratic State Committee, city, ward, and town committees, and party activists all across Massachusetts to create a party infrastructure that elects and supports Democrats up and down the ballot. With your ideas and energy, we can best communicate our party’s principles and values to voters, expand our efforts to make our party accessible and representative of all our people, and harness the tremendous energy at the grassroots.

The success of these ideas depends on you, the activists who do the hard work year after year to win elections and advance our cause. We have always been better when we reach out and bring more people in.

We will depend on that passion again in 2024 as we work to support the national ticket of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and to ensure the re-election of Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Building on a strong foundation, there is more we can do to make the Massachusetts Democratic Party the gold standard for state parties across the country. Senator Kennedy taught us that you never rest on your laurels. You can always get better. Let our work begin today on doing just that.

Nothing could be more important. Because when Democrats win, our commonwealth and our nation are better for it.
