I know firsthand how critical this campaign is for members of the entertainment community going through difficult times. In 1992, after I had done The Wiz and Ain’t Misbehavin’, I put some money away, knowing that someday I would grow older and need it. But then my life partner of 17 years was diagnosed with AIDS-related Lymphoma. I spent the last four years of his life caring for him, and over that time, my savings dwindled.

At my lowest point, I called the Fund, and they said, “We got you.” And they stepped up to provide me with the support and assistance I needed.

Right now, there are so many members of the performing arts community who desperately need the Fund’s help—and yours. This campaign is critical to ensuring that the Fund can provide emergency financial assistance that will help pay for rent, medical bills and insurance and other urgent needs.
