Mifepristone is an important medication approved by the FDA 20 years ago after a rigorous approval process.
And last Friday, the Supreme Court ruled on the case and decided to protect access to Mifepristone for now.
This was the right decision—because the Supreme Court should not allow a single judge to set a dangerous new precedent that would allow anyone in this country to cherry-pick an extreme far-right judge and have that judge take any FDA-approved medication like insulin and more off the shelves with the stroke of a pen.
But make no mistake: this isn’t over.
This underlying legal case is still working its way through the courts. And Republicans aren’t going to stop looking for ways to ban access to abortion for women across the country.
As far-right judges, members of Congress and state legislatures around the country work to control the bodies and healthcare decisions of women, we have to keep speaking up and protecting our rights.
So if you agree that we must act now to protect the right to choose, chip in $5 today. With your help, we can work for a country where abortion is safe and accessible in every state.
