EGLE offers grants to small manufacturers for energy efficiency projects

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Energy Services is offering matching grants for projects that improve the efficiency of processes for small manufacturing companies (<500 employees worldwide) physically located in Michigan.

The objectives of the EGLE, Small Manufacturers Retooling Program are to achieve meaningful energy and cost savings by enhancing the process efficiency of Michigan small manufacturing facilities,?reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve the resiliency of Michigan small manufacturing facilities through process improvements that reduce energy input per unit produced. Project successes will be disseminated after project completion to accelerate the adoption of process efficiency technologies and best practices by Michigan?s manufacturing sector.

A minimum of $75,000 in funding is expected to be available, and the maximum funding amount per applicant is $25,000. All applicants must provide a minimum 50 percent (1:1) match of the total requested grant funds. ?

The EGLE, Small Manufacturers Retooling Program will be accepting applications until all funds are committed, or *May 31, 2023*, whichever comes first.
