Hi John — it’s Ashley here. I wanted to reach out personally today to explain why your support is so important to me. If you’re short on time, you can support our movement by chipping in today. Last election, I talked to so many people in our district who were struggling to keep up with the rise of gas prices, groceries, prescription drugs, and housing costs. Growing up in a single-parent household, I know what it’s like to live hand to mouth and barely scrape by. The choices working families have to make are often impossible — whether it’s paying for groceries or medicine, car repairs or utilities, clothes or shoes. But most of our leaders in Washington have never had to make those choices. Anyone impacted by substance abuse and mental health struggles can tell you: people like us aren't supposed to end up in Congress. Joining the Army was my one-way ticket out of generational poverty, and I wouldn't be here without believing in the promise of the American dream. But the American dream is out of reach for too many people, and that’s not an accident.
I’m running for Congress to give a voice to those left behind by a government that has failed to look out for working families like mine. And I’m tired of corrupt, out-of-touch politicians like Brian Fitzpatrick standing in the way of progress. In less than one week, my team faces our very FIRST fundraising deadline. We are going up against a corporate-backed incumbent with a massive war chest. Unlike my opponent, I’m counting on grassroots supporters in every neighborhood across PA-01 to fuel our campaign.
