Indivisibles,

As early as tomorrow, the House is scheduled to vote on Kevin McCarthy’s
“Limit, Save, Grow Act,” a wish list of toxic policies concocted by the
most extreme Republicans in the House.

For months, MAGA Republicans have been driving us towards a catastrophic
default on the national debt, which would harm Social Security, Medicare,
and Medicaid, would double unemployment, and would cause a global
recession. Now, they’re offering up McCarthy’s bill as the ransom they
expect ordinary Americans to pay in exchange for averting the crisis
Republicans themselves have created. At the end of the day, this bill
would result in:

* 1.7 million women, infants, and children losing their SNAP benefits,
leading to increases in child hunger and poverty

* $30 billion dollars in cuts to veterans’ programs, making it harder
for veterans to access the medical care they need

* Slashed funding for schools with low-income students and students with
disabilities, resulting in potentially over 100,000 teachers and staff
losing their jobs

* Onerous requirements for Medicaid recipients, potentially causing
millions of people to lose their health care coverage

* $80 billion cut from the IRS budget, making it easier for the
ultra-rich to cheat on their taxes

* The end of Biden’s student debt relief program.

And that’s just a fraction of the harm this bill does.

This bill is the direct result of concessions McCarthy gave to the
far-right Republicans who made him Speaker. As Matt Gaetz put it, McCarthy
"picked up the House Freedom Caucus plan and helped us convert it into the
legislative text."

But it’s not just the outspoken MAGA Republicans pushing for draconian
spending cuts. In order for the bill to pass, McCarthy needs every
Republican vote he can get -- including from the Unrepresentatives -- the
18 vulnerable Republicans currently serving in Biden-won districts.

Many of these Unrepresentatives are getting ready to support the bill even
though they know its provisions are politically toxic. They’re hoping that
party leadership and GOP billionaires will reward them for it. And they’re
praying that their voters aren’t paying attention.

That’s where we come in. If any of the Unrepresentatives vote for this
bill, we're going to make sure voters in their districts hear about it.
We’ll make them famous for voting to strip benefits away from ordinary
Americans while further enriching their wealthy donors.

[ [link removed] ]With your help, we’ll invest in tactics to make this vote politically
toxic in their district -- including, if we can fund it, billboards like
this one with language tailored to the harmful parts of this bill most
relevant to their district.

Indivisibles in target districts are fighting today to get their Reps to
vote no and pass a clean debt ceiling increase just like they did
throughout Trump’s presidency.

But we know that many of these members will choose their donors over their
constituents. Let’s be ready to hold those members accountable and make
them own this heinous vote for the rest of their short careers.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
