It’s today, John. The public hearing for Senate Joint Resolution 33, just introduced last week, is at 3:00 PM at the Oregon State Capitol. SJR 33 seeks to amend the Oregon State Constitution to include abortion as a right. This would effectively enshrine state-funded abortion for any reason up to the moment of birth in our constitution. We cannot stand by and let this happen. John, I know you probably can’t make it all the way to Salem for the public hearing, but there are some things you can do. First, you can email the members of the Senate Rules Committee and urge them to oppose SJR 33. After you’ve done that, you can provide virtual testimony explaining why this bill is dangerous and the wrong choice for Oregon. To provide virtual testimony, be sure to register at least 30 minutes before the hearing. I urge you to use these tools and take the opportunity to be a representative for unborn children who don’t get a voice themselves. Because everyone deserves an advocate, Justin Hageman |
